Rap + Math = Fun Education

How cool would it be to have a teacher use music to teach like this LA teacher who uses rap to teach algebra.

Los Angeles math teacher LaMar Queen has been using Hip Hop to help his students memorize steps in solving algebra problems, and improve their grades, according to the Associated Press. A student of his Cindy Martinez says "It gets stuck in your head", I guess it would if you hear it over and over and if you love Hip-Hop. Well they should do that where I live and I might not fall asleep in class of boredizem.

Queen, 26, has won a national award for his approach, and now shows teachers and parents how to utilize his method."Math is a bad word in a lot of households," says Queen. "But if we put it in a form that kids enjoy, they'll learn."

The originallity of Queen's raps came after students told him his class was boring ( I can understand that). The students added that he looked like rapper Kanye West, and challenged him to rap.

Queen, who had been rapping since seventh grade - he'd put rhymes together while walking home from school in a Carson, a city neighboring LA, responded by writing a rap song called "Slope Intercept."

He must be really good if Kejon Closure, 13, whose grades changed from a C- average to an A.
Now math and music should equal a good and smart kid who loves learning.
Queen, who allows his students to appear in the music videos he makes as a reward for good behavior, encourages other life lessons as well, such as "be respectful. Listen to your parents."

"Let's talk about slope intercept/I don't mind if you interject/Just don't disrespect/I say, you have a question for me?/What's y equals mx + b?" rhymes Queen, who has launched a website, MusicNotesOnline, to market his rap CD and DVD.
Queen plans to expand his rap teaching method to other subjects.

LaMar Queen is a good teacher and other teachers should do the same in my opinon.

Guess Who's Back

Big News Da Brat is back she is out of prison and she is talking about new music.
After originally being sentenced to three years for striking a fellow clubgoer with a bottle of rum in 2008, Da Brat is out on work release. The first female rapper to have a certified platinum-selling album (1994’s Funkdafied), now my favorite female rapper of all is working a nine-to-five with windows and she says as I quote  Brat must also complete seven years of probation and 200 hours of community service. I say now that is too much lol.
“Thank y’all for the love and support. I got a job. I work a nine-to-five, because I’m in the work release program. I make windows. If y’all need a window holla at your girl.”- Brat.

What does Music mean to you? (random just on my mind)

What does music mean to me well music is my relaxer and when I listen to music everything I worry about is gone. i listen to the new stuff as well as the old stuff I feel like the old stuff just gets me in the feeling to just sit down and really listen to what they are saying. The new music gets me into writing a new song because it tells me what people want to listen to. I listen to music everywhere a school, in the car, walking around the neighborhood, even if their is no music around i still like to make my own music or just sing a song that is stuck in my head.

2010 Free Verse

I come hard with the rhymes
I run hard from the crimes
We stop weed heads from getting into the meds. The life of a hustler, the life of pretty little liar.
Black and white is what I see with my eyes
never cry my heart hasn't died, yet but I bet im so fresh with the new and the old from above I am known
did you know I was blown out of the zone not a peom but a freestyle of LOON-E-TOON Brooklynseeks I am the new and improved Ima lay down this toon in the evening of the moon like ROCK-A-FELLA soon.

New Music in My Life

Chris Webby to me he is new and hot in my rap category,A white boy from Connecticut he sound like he black it's like he's his own Eminem.

I'm just saying that if Asher Roth is Ferris Bueller's favorite MC…then Chris Webby is Spicoli's favorite MC (that's two different movie references but hopefully somebody gets what I mean.)
Just last week, his new album, "The White Noise LP", was released for free download on the Internet. The guy reps Ninja Turtles and has A.D.D…he is this generation also Optimus Prime.

You can find Chris Webby on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, he's collaborating on a clothing line, working on music videos, and as you'll see…his Myspace is dope too. I admire his grind. All aspiring MC's should follow his lead.
